Organic Gardening

Amitaba Gardens uses only organic growing methods and all-natural chemical components, such as homemade compost and labor done mostly by hand.

At Amitaba Gardens, we seek to make our relationship with the Earth as fruitful and mutually beneficial as possible. As such, we apply organic growing methods and make our own compost. We plant our trees, veggies and herbs all by hand to ensure minimal impact to the delicate ecosystem in which we thrive. Whenever possible we employ naturally occurring chemical compounds such as guano, worm castings, and our own rich, homebrewed compost. Our carefully considered methods encourage our food to grow up strong, plentiful and nutritionally superior to more artificially grown food.

Our livestock receives the same level of care and consideration. Our chickens roam the farm freely, and are never trapped against their will or forced to produce eggs. They eat native, wild grasses and grains they find on the property and this ideal diet is reflected in the quality of the eggs and meat they produce.
